Regional and Thematic Networks

With over 400 members in 80 countries, as well as other partnerships around the globe, the International Coalition of Sites of Conscience offers unprecedented access to a wide network of like-minded organizations from Bangladesh to Brazil.

Since our founding in 1999, we have built grassroots networks across the globe that offer guidance and support to one another as partners, mentors, champions, and collaborators in the Sites of Conscience movement.

To support these efforts and to inspire broad civic engagement on local community issues, the Coalition has developed Regional Networks, constellations of Sites of Conscience. By engaging with these dynamic networks, members can coordinate and elevate their individual efforts to remember common histories and address their legacies today. Regional Networks build the capacity of emerging initiatives in each region and strengthen the collective memory of past struggles for fundamental freedoms through joint public projects, workshops, one-on-one consultations, and other activities. They also offer the opportunity for cross-regional exchange and collaboration, providing members with the unique experience of sharing methodologies and best practices across regions.

In addition, we are also developing Thematic Networks, the first of which is our Migration Museums Network, which launched in December 2021. For more information on individual Networks, please see below.
