Consumer Health Foundation (USA)

The Consumer Health Foundation centers the leadership and expertise of Black people and people of the global majority in the Washington, DC region who live at the sharpest intersection of systems of oppression, in particular race, class, and gender identity. As a part of a new strategic plan, the foundation is laying the groundwork for a Museum of Racism and Health.

The museum is envisioned as a community-centered museum, one in which community members who live on the margins in our region participate in designing the museum, developing oral history projects, and other activities. .

The museum will recount the history of racism and health, present frameworks for understanding racism and health, and engage visitors in healing justice practices that can transform the impacts of oppression on our hearts, minds, and bodies.
