Mish’al Association for the Children of the Disappeared (Algeria)

Algeria-Watch is an association for the defense of human rights in Algeria. Created in 1997 in Germany, it quickly went beyond the German-speaking framework and developed activities in the French language, including Algeria in 2002.

Working on forced disappearances in Algeria for many years, the main aim of Mish’al (the Torch) is to preserve the memory of victims and their families, and to maintain the struggle for truth and justice in Algeria. The site will allowed continued documentation of forced disappearances in order to create a ‘Museum of the Disappeared,’ and to give financial and judicial assistance to families of the victims.
