Membership & Stakeholder Consultant

Elena del Hoyo

For more than five years, Membership and Stakeholder Engagement Consultant Elena del Hoyo has supported ICSC’s to ensure that member sites remain at the heart of every aspect of ICSC’s work. In her role, Elena has managed subgrants and conferences, implemented global programming, strengthened systems across the organization and aligned the production of publications, social media content, and communications to amplify members’ voices.

Elena is driven by social justice and solidarity across borders, and sees memory, heritage and art work as an arena to intervene in existing power dynamics and navigate increasingly complex social contexts, amplifying voices often excluded from dominant narratives. Memory roots her on the struggles of the past to continue building a more just future.

Born and raised in Barcelona, Spain, Elena del Hoyo holds MAs in International Heritage Management and International Affairs and a BA in Art History  from Durham University in the UK, the Autonomous University of Barcelona, and the University of Barcelona. She has also worked with grassroots organizations in the arts and informal education sectors, as well as with archaeologists, architects, and memorial initiatives- building a cross-disciplinary understanding of cultural heritage, social justice and community work.

In her free time, she enjoys ceramics, painting, reading, laying under the sun and connecting with nature.
