Hrant Dink Foundation (Turkey)

Memory StoneThe Hrant Dink Foundation was established in 2007 in Istanbul, following the assassination of Hrant Dink, the founder of the Turkish-Armenian weekly Agos newspaper. The Hrant Dink Foundation is currently turning the Agos newspaper’s office – where Dink was assassinated on January 19, 2007 – into a site of memory and conscience. The site will focus on Hrant Dink’s and Agos Newsaper’s story as well as cover other issues related to Armenians and minorities in Turkey. The organization also facilitates various programs dedicated to the democratization of Turkey and to protecting human rights, to shedding light on unspoken pasts, and to researching hate speech and normalizing relations between Turkey and Armenia.
