The Harriet Tubman Underground Railroad State Park preserves the landscapes that H, Tubman used to carry herself and others away from slavery. A deeply spiritual woman who lived her ideals and dedicated her life to freedom, Tubman remains the Underground Railroad’s best known conductor. Before the Civil War, she repeatedly risked her life to guide 70 enslaved people north to new lives of freedom. The park marks an annual Harriet Tubman Emancipation Day, is an Education space for schools that use the park landscapes and stories to engage with students, and is part of the Underground Railroad Network to Freedom.
