Rachel N. Stern is the Program Intern with the Global Transitional Justice Initiative. In this capacity, she assists with research and program organization, supporting GIJTR’s transitional justice projects across Africa, Asia, Latin America, and the MENA region. As of September 2021, she will be pursuing a M.A. in Geography at the University of British Columbia, focusing on the linkages between transitional justice, land rights, and political and cultural geography.
Rachel holds a B.A. in Individualized Study from the Gallatin School of Individualized Study at New York University where she concentrated in Environmental Justice, Conflict and Cooperation and minored in Peace and Conflict Studies. She has also worked with the Environmental Law Institute’s Environmental Peacebuilding program and as a Research Assistant at New York University.
