Katie is an entrepreneurial leader (CPA/MBA) of socially responsible and financial projects with a history of success and experience in a broad range of corporate, nonprofit and private foundation organizations. After a more traditional career path, she has spent the last eight years broadening her nonprofit skill set through a variety of financial, operational and consulting roles working directly with/for nonprofit organizations. She has also worked internationally as a controller and financial consultant for disaster relief and global health institutions. Katie specializes in developing, managing and monitoring financial operations / internal controls, with complex entity structures, supporting programming for disadvantaged youth, community development and global health. Additionally, Katie started her career at KPMG, in Chicago, where she serviced real estate, nonprofit and government clients in assurance.
While Katie has been focused primarily on financial operations and grants management she has a strong accounting and financial analysis background that includes a CPA certification in Illinois. Many of her roles in the nonprofit sector have been a new role or a new country or both. She’s drawn to new and challenging situations where her flexible style, interpersonal skills and cultural sensitivity can play an equally important role in meeting the objective.
