Gernika Gogoratuz Centro de Investigación Por la Paz

Gernika Gogoratuz Centro de Investigación Por la Paz (Gernika Gogoratuz Center for Peace) develops research, training and dissemination processes that aim to contribute to the historical memory surrounding the 1937 Nazi bombing of Gernika, in which one-third of the town’s residents were killed or wounded. Now designated a City of Peace for the European region by UNESCO, the town is committed to using its past to foster a culture of peace. For this, the Center carries out educational programs for peace and participates in research and international cooperation programs through academic collaborations with universities, social organizations and institutions.
