Latin American Sites of Conscience Regional Meeting (August 2011)

Organized by Memoria Abierta, the regional coordinator for the network, and hosted by Museo de la Memoria de Rosario, the Latin American regional meeting brought together Latin American Network members to discuss how new media will make an impact on memorialization work in the region. This network works with sites to remember state terrorism and use that memory to influence political culture and promote civic action. For the first time, the Regional Meeting was held at Museo de la Memoria – Rosario, which remembers the human rights violations committed under Argentina’s military dictatorships and looks at the causes and consequences of state terrorism.
