Memoria Abierta

During the period of the Argentine military dictatorship from 1976 to 1983, state terrorism was justified in the name of national security. Thousands of men, women and children were kidnapped, tortured in clandestine concentration camps and secretly executed. An alliance of eight Argentine human rights organizations, Memoria Abierta (Open Memory) is dedicated to creating a place where Argentineans can come to reflect on the past in order to ensure history will not repeat itself.
